Facebook have been working hard lately updating and for the most part improving their iOS app.

But they have now rolled out the “I’m a Voter” button internationally after recent success elsewhere.

Today is Election Day in the UK and when I opened the Facebook app this morning I was greeted with the following message at the top of my timeline…

Facebook's new message feature

Now this feature on its own may not seem like a big deal. But when you consider the possible scenarios that Facebook could use for this, such as targeting sporting events, television shows, and political events the list is truly endless.

Also Imagine the power to be able to use Facebook’s already extensive targeting coupled with this message to truly push your brand or products under the noses of the consumers you want.

How do you think Facebook will continue to use this new feature? Will they sell this space to companies?

Justin's path into design and marketing has been anything but conventional. A random selection of career decisions saw him designing rave flyers, t-shirts and (although refusing to divulge his stage name) he allegedly did a summer stint in Gt Yarmouth as a magician before finally settling on a career in marketing.
